SCIP Leadership Change

As change is the normal state in today’s environment, we would like to make you aware of upcoming changes at SCIP. Ken Garrison will be leaving as SCIP’s CEO on August 31. During the Board’s search for the person to fill this SCIP leadership position, as Chair of the Board of Directors Michel Bernaiche will serve as the interim CEO on a voluntary basis to ensure that the executive responsibilities continue unimpeded, that SCIP staff retains the support they need and that the events and operations of SCIP continue to run smoothly. SCIP will remain a neutral, member-driven organization.

As presented in the State of SCIP session in Philadelphia this year, SCIP has set itself on a positive trajectory and has positioned itself for growth. Our membership numbers are back to pre-recession levels and our financial condition is stronger than it has been since early 2000. We expect the numbers to improve as we execute SCIP’s vision to enhance the organization’s value proposition through a relentless focus on delivering and improving content, retaining and attracting new core and non-core members and continuing our domestic and international growth by way of new chapters and events around the world.

Since joining SCIP in 2008, Ken’s contributions have been instrumental in navigating our association through and out of a global recession and creating an association with strong financial and membership numbers. During this time, two of Ken’s critical accomplishments were brokering a merger with Frost & Sullivan as well as a joint venture with The Academy of Competitive Intelligence.

Please take this opportunity to wish Ken success in his new role as CEO of the Heavy Construction Contractors Association and to thank him for his dedication and hard work on behalf of SCIP. As always, please feel free to contact Michel directly with any questions or concerns you might have.
